The Coudenhove-Kalergi Foundation was established on 15 September 1978 by the Pan-Europa Union – six years after the death of this great European thinker. On 20 February 2008 it was transformed into the European Society Coudenhove-Kalergi. It is an independent non-profit organization which draws its financial support from contributions from sponsors, donations and other forms of gifting.
The Pan-Europa Union defends and supports the idea of a united Europe through its members. The European Society Coudenhove-Kalergi’s aim is to promote a united Europe by extending awards to European celebrities and financing projects that serve the Pan-Europa idea; in its efforts it also utilizes the Europe archives from the Coudenhove-Kalergi estate.
The main objectives of the European Society Coudenhove-Kalergi are:
